課程概述

Course Description
This course is designed to explain the fundamentals of both existential philosophy and literature. It examines the history of existentialism from its likely beginnings in Catholic medieval philosophy and then looks at the Lutheran reformation that took place and likely influenced both Soren Kierkegaard and Friedrich Nietzsche. It is essential to look at how many ideas have endured in philosophy and literature, making it essential to examine Jean-Paul Sartre’s Nausea and Albert Camus’ The Myth of Sisyphus for these philosophical ideas that pertain to existentialism.

This course requires research and a 20-30 page essay explaining the framework of Catholic medieval philosophy, the Lutheran reformation, and existential philosophy and literature.
